Childfont Teaches Listening Skills to Ensure Comprehension
Childfont.com Teaches Listening Skills to Ensure Comprehension Listening is a critical component of communication/learning and must be taught to children. CHILDFONT instruction has an impact on teaching and improving both listening and reading comprehension. Parents should know the behaviors that indicate a child is NOT listening, which hinders learning. Those behaviors are: * Moving around or fidgeting with hands, feet or fingers. * Making noises of any kind * NOT looking at the photo or word presented to be learned * Talking Discriminative listening is simply distinguishing the sounds and visual cues. This discriminative listening ability is the foundation or base for the other four listening skills. Childfont teaches discriminative listening skills in every lesson for all ages. The learner must "learn" to distinguish sounds and visual cues beginning at age 2 and continue through each age level to be effective communicators and learners in society. Auditory or listening skills are closely linked to the development of oral and reading vocabularies. Auditory discrimination includes recognizing sounds among words, consonants, vowels, syllables and rhyming words. Childfont activities encompass all of these skills. Visual discrimination or the nonverbal cues help the listener or learner to better focus on the message being presented. Cues such as facial expression, body posture and eye contact help to accurately relay the message. Childfont PUPPET SHOWS are filled with such cues to entice children to focus and comprehend the message to be learned. The listener's ability to concentrate and gain knowledge from listening influences success. Learners are taught to listen for different sounds in the environment around them and to watch others' body and eyes for cues to the message being taught. Listening is a vital part of everyday life and, the ability to do so is closely linked to reading comprehension. CHILDFONT places extreme importance on listening skills. At Childfont, parents won't see the behaviors listed above that indicate their children are NOT listening. Learning to read, write and spell English has never been so much fun!
